A 4-part Story (a found, collage, list poem)

A collage of found poems

  1. I can’t remember a time when I didn’t feel afraid, when I didn’t see an edge and think of falling. I know only how to jump to conclusions feet first and land on the wrong side of consequences.
  2. You’re okay. Breathe. Just breathe. Open your eyes. Come back. It’s okay. It’s over now. You’re okay. Wake up. Please wake up. Don’t do this to me. Don’t do this. Please. Open your eyes. I love you so fucking much. Come back.
  3. If you’re never going to talk to me again, that’s okay. I know you promised you would never leave me five months ago whle I was crying into your chest, but I also know that someitmes it snows in the middle of summer and vines grow from hard concrete.
  4. And when I asked you how you’ve been, I meant I missed you more than I’ve ever missed anything before.
